Frequently Asked Questions

Pesticides for household insects are designed to be applied at low concentrations, usually less than 1 percent. These concentrations are high enough to be effective in killing small insects, but pose no threat to people or pets.

Treated surfaces usually dry quickly, so there is little chance for exposure from them. The residue that remains on the surface will be toxic to insects, but presents no threat to people. It usually does not last very long, but long enough for the target insects to contact it and die.

We use industry leading Integrated Pest Management techniques to limit the products used in and around your home. We treat the small cracks and crevices throughout the interior of the home. This prevents accidental exposure to your and your family, but also is much more effective in controlling pests as it focuses on the places pest’s enter the home, but also go to hide! The majority of our treatment program is focused on the exterior of the home where most pest problems originate.

Residual insecticides remain effective where they are applied for some length of time. The length of time depends on the formulation (dust, liquid, etc.), the type of surface (soil, brick, wood, etc.) and the condition of the surface (wet, greasy, etc.).

Nonresidual insecticides have no residual activity—they work now, then they are gone within a fairly short time. Nonresidual insecticides are also known as contact insecticides. In other words, you have to “hit” the bug with the spray in order for it to work.

Our services are perfect for residential, business or commercial property needs, and our coverage area includes Glen Waverley, Doncaster, Narre Warren, Melton , Frankston, Port Melbourne, Morning peninsula, and all other areas in Melbourne. Our company offers the most technologically advanced means of eradicating pests, including the use of effective non-toxic solutions.

Most of the pesticides we use are classified in "Category III" - the lowest in toxicity. Additionally, many of the materials that we use are natural oils or plant derivatives. Our goal is to expose only pests to pesticides by carefully following all of the manufacturer's instructions as well as all rules and regulations from our licensing agencies. Even relatively non-toxic materials still require proper safety precautions.

Whether you remain on site while we work is a matter of the type of pest we're treating, the type of treatment we're using and how we need to apply that treatment.

Your technician will advise you if it is necessary to leave the home, or only to avoid specific areas until any treated surfaces have had time to dry. Advise your technician of any sensitive persons, pets, or organic gardens requiring extra care.

Your technician will advise you to remove pet food, water dishes, exposed food items, and children's toys from areas he needs to treat. If there are active pests indoors, other items may need attention.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is the practice of using improved sanitation, exclusion, cultural controls, habitat manipulation, trapping, and targeted pesticide application to control or reduce pest problems. In other words, we use knowledge and common sense to prevent pests, not just pesticides.
